A 2005 iteration of COMPOSERS AND LYRICISTS is archived at the Wayback Machine.
A comparison to the present version demonstrates the impermanence of internet resources.

This portion of the J.A. Parks web site comprises links to information about composers, arrangers and lyricists / librettists of the music arranged and published by J.A. Parks.  In January 2010 we began a project to add song titles associated with the names.   This section includes links to “capsule biographies” of people who were local residents or were otherwise personally connected to York or J.A. Parks.

The stimulus to develop this portion was an e-mail reference request from a Scottish researcher received three weeks after the initial J.A. Parks page was posted in 2003.

Many of these personalities are so obscure no web reference can be found.   Some are remembered today only for one or two lyrics or a single melody.   A few are “household names.”

We have added two or more links for some personalities, particularly in cases where each of the sites has information not provided by the other(s).

Many of the links open entries in the people portion of the Cyberhymnal, or wikipedia. Please note that the cyberhymnal.org URL was inadvertently lost by its founder, and www.hymntime.com/tch is the “real” cyberhymnal.

Clicking on the appropriate letter below will “jump” to the page containing that portion of the alphabet.
