International Rotary Songs *** Including a Choice Collection of Old-Time Songs, National and Patriotic Songs, Program Songs, Sacred Songs, “Stunt” Songs, and Parodies Compiled and Arranged Expressly for This Work. J.A. Parks, Editor; E.H. Bemis, Contributing Editor. Published by The York Rotary Club, York, Nebraska, U.S.A. (Preface dated November, 1920)
Felix Vondracek, who had a music store in York in the 1960s & ’70s, and who was a member of the York Rotary Club at that time, commented that Mr. Parks and the local Rotary Club published this book without getting permission to use the Rotary name from Rotary International. Mr. Vondracek thought some kind of “trouble” resulted. We checked with the Rotary International archives; they had nothing to substantiate or refute this tale.
