J.A. Parks materials at York County Historical Association

Listing last updated MARCH 20, 2007, copied to new web site in July 2008 without updating.

Prepared by Stan Schulz, Library Director, Kilgore Memorial Library, in conjunction with the library’s project to document the J.A. PARKS MUSIC COMPANY’s output.

The  York County Historical Association   has collected J.A. Parks Music Company materials for many years. York County Historical’s J.A. PARKS collection includes many unusual items, and pieces with multiple local associations. This brief listing notes the items in the York County Historical Society collection in early 2007. It follows the arrangement adopted for Kilgore Memorial Library’s J. A. Parks Music Company

  • BOOKS and
  • MUSIC OCTAVOS listings, with
  • an opening section noting special items that fall outside the scope of those two listings.

MISCELLANEOUS  | OCTAVO NUMBERS  | BOOKS  |

Un-numbered Sheet Music and Miscellaneous Pieces

Some of these items are early unnumbered printings of pieces later issued in the numbered IMPERIAL EDITION series. A one-page listing in an early printing of Sacred Quartets No. 2 for Male Voices lists 90 unnumbered “Octavos.”
