William S. Kilgore served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In May 1946, Major William S. Kilgore was named a COMMANDER in the Order of the CROWN OF ITALY in recognition for his service as doctor to Italian prisoners of war. Dr. Kilgore was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve in 1952, and retired from military service in 1959. - The Family Doctor
