Avenue of Trees

Friends of the Library’s AVENUE OF TREES first appeared in 2004.

The trees are supplied by area businesses, community groups, and individuals.

The rules for submissions:

  • Artificial trees only
  • Nothing electrical; no loose glitter — decorations should be durable enough to survive 5 weeks
  • Choice of decorations decided by supplier — may reflect
    • Group or personal tastes / interests
    • Favorite book, fable or literary character(s)
    • Festive, creative or fun holiday theme
  • Submissions due by mid-November to allow time for organization and assignment of space.

  • Trees brought to Kilgore Memorial Library and set up / decorated the Saturday / Sunday after Thanksgiving
  • Trees placed throughout the library, with identification sign(s). Trees will remain on display through December, with pickup on January 2nd (or first day the library is open after New Year’s Day)
  • Trees are in unsecured public space. Kilgore Memorial Library and Friends of the Library cannot be responsible for individual trees or decorations.
