| Parks’ S.S.A.A. arrangement of “Lead Kindly Light” published in 1899 is “Inscribed to Miss Marion Carpenter of York, Nebraska.” Marion Carpenter married Dr. O.M. Mooore in 1903. Marion Moore was identified as accompanist for the York Rotary Club in Parks’ 1920 Rotary Songbook. A 1940 feature article from the York Republican says Marion Moore began working for J.A. Parks in 1924, and may have been a partner after Dr. Moore’s death in 1932. That article credits her with 427 musical compositions and arrangements, and notes sales figures for “Invocation,” “Just Singing Along,” and “Pep.” Her obituary in the May 9, 1955 York News-Times reveals she married local attorney C.E. Sandall in 1942. He died in 1951. | ![]() Marion Moore ca. 1940 with grandchild and family pet. |
